Women's services

The women’s services unit, predominantly located at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, offer a comprehensive range of women’s services and is a renowned centre of midwifery and obstetric excellence.

Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital have recently been awarded the 2005 National Childbirth Trust’s better birth environment award, and it is also recognised as the national centre for female adolescents and adults with congenital abnormalities of the genital tract.

The Centre for Fetal Care is also located at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. It was established in 1992, and is now a well-established unit of international standing. It is also the largest centre for research in obstetrics and gynaecology in Europe.

The women’s services unit includes the following specialities:

  • gynaecology
  • gynaecology oncology
  • maternity
  • reproductive medicine

Making an appointment:
Appointments to women’s services can be made following a referral from a GP, and some services may be made through the choose and book system. Tertiary referrals are also accepted.
